Just like each person needs an individualized approach to alcohol addiction treatment, your approach to making amends in AA may look completely different from someone else’s. An important element of step nine is that those in recovery have already begun making amends to themselves by changing some of their behaviors, attitudes, and beliefs. The goal of this step is to find freedom by cleaning up the past to live peacefully in the present. Those in recovery are encouraged to keep an ongoing ninth step in their life by continuing to pay off debts and refraining from lying, stealing, or cheating. The ninth step is very action-oriented and provides a sense of relief.

Research on LGBTQI+ Children in Foster Care

It’s possible to be too early in the healing journey to start making amends. If you’re actively using drugs or alcohol, making amends can seem like an empty gesture to the other person. While you may genuinely want to repair your relationships, it’s a good idea to focus on your sobriety first. For example, some people may require medically supervised detox as a first step, followed by residential alcohol treatment. Living amends is a third option for those in the ninth step of recovery.

Legal Authority for the Final Rule

Directs that the rule not include any requirements that conflict with the 2018 North Carolina Plumbing Code. Requires CPH to adopt a rule to amend the Septic Tank Capacity Requirements Rule consistent with this provision. Requires that 15A NCAC 18E .0701, the Collection Sewers Rule, be implemented so that collection sewers for wastewater systems with a design daily flow greater than 3,000 gallons per day be designed and constructed in accordance with the criteria established in this Rule. Requires that 15A NCAC 18E .0202, the Application Rule, be implemented so that prior to the repair of a wastewater system, an application must be submitted to the local health department. Requires the CPH to adopt a rule to amend the Application Rule consistent with this provision. Requires that 15A NCAC 18E .0105, the Definitions Rule, be implemented to define terms as follows.

Whatever the situation, there are a few ways to get started in the process of repairing wrongs with the people you most care about. They want to find ways of making up for all their past wrongs, and they don't want to miss the opportunity to do so once their loved one dies. In these cases, they make promises of cleaning up their act and changing their behaviors to their loved ones just before they die. One of the most common reasons people want to make living amends is to correct past wrongs. When dealing with the loss of a loved one and wanting to find ways of accepting their death, making living amends can help bereaved individuals find forgiveness and closure, especially when reconciliation is no longer an option. ACF disagrees with the commenters' concern that this rule generally violates the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment or the religious exercise for all providers for several reasons. ACF has a compelling interest in providing these protections for children in the foster system as a general matter. ACF provides Federal funding to states and tribes to provide appropriate foster care placements for all children; to ensure all children are placed consistent with the child's best interest; and to provide support for meeting the safety, permanency, and well-being needs of all children. As noted throughout this rule, we reiterate that nothing in this rule compels any provider to seek to become a Designated Provider. To further support the placement stability of LGBTQI+ children, we reiterate that this rule's prohibition on retaliation encompasses unwarranted placement changes for a child because of their LGBTQI+ status or identity. This final rule will become effective at the beginning of FY 2027 and thus will apply to the entire population of children in foster care who are age 14 and older in that FY.

For example, someone living with an addiction may make amends by apologizing for stealing property and then make it right by returning what they’d taken. Mental Health Needs of LGBTQI+ Children

The design daily flow for a food establishment with multiuse articles is 25 gallons per seat open 6 hours per day or less, or 40 gallons per seat when open 6-16 hours per day and shall not be based on square footage of floor space. The design daily flow for a food establishment with single service articles is 20 gallons per seat open 6 hours per day or less, or 30 gallons per seat when open 6 to 16 hours per day and shall not be based on square footage of floor space. The design daily flow for rest homes, assisted living homes, group homes, and nursing homes shall increase by 60 gallons per day per resident employee, regardless of the presence of laundry facilities. The design daily flow for drug rehabilitation, mental health, and other care institutions shall be 12 gallons per day per employee working an 8-hour shift or less or 60 gallons per day per resident employee, increasing by 2 gallons per employee per hour when an employee works more than an 8-hour shift. The design daily flow for fitness centers, spas, karate, dance, and exercise shall be 5 gallons per person, increasing by 10 gallons per person if the facility includes showers. The design daily flow for day schools with a gymnasium only shall be 9 gallons per day per student.
