However, if the charge is more than a month old, then it needs to be investigated to see if the entry in QuickBooks is wrong. For your reconciliation to work, the beginning balance calculated by QuickBooks must match the ending balance on the last statement reconciled. Make sure the category is the credit card you just reconciled, the bill date is the statement date, and the due date agrees with the due date on the credit card statement.
